Oil & Gas
Our attorneys have extensive experience representing oil and gas companies, mineral owners, and other industry entities. While representing operators in multiple Texas plays, including the Barnett Shale, Permian Basin, Eagle Ford Shale and East Texas oilfield, a significant portion of our practice has been devoted to oil and gas title examination. We pride ourselves on delivering practical, straightforward, cost effective Title Opinions to our clients. In addition to title examination, we assist clients in all other facets of their land and legal operations.

Kirsten Holmes
Kirsten Holmes was born and raised in Cleburne, Texas. She is a 2005 graduate of Texas A&M University and a 2008 graduate of Texas A&M School of Law (formerly Texas Wesleyan University School of Law). Kirsten's primary practice areas are guardianship, probate, estate planning, trusts, real estate, civil litigation and oil and gas. She prides herself in being able to help her clients work through the challenges that come with the loss of a loved one and helping those that wish to establish a plan for the future. Kirsten has helped clients work through the most difficult of guardianship and probate matters and always does all that she can to make things as easy on the family as possible.
Kirsten is the 2020 Vice President of the Johnson County Bar Association and a member of the State Bar of Texas.
She is married to Kirk Hinkson and they have an adorable son, Liam, who was born at 28 weeks and has kept them laughing ever since! Kirsten also has a dog, Sherlock, who often joins her at the office.
Lindsey Shanklin
Lindsey Shanklin grew up in Cleburne, Texas, obtained her BBA in Marketing at Texas A&M University, MBA at Texas Christian University, and Juris Doctorate at Texas A&M School of Law (formerly Texas Wesleyan University School of Law). Lindsey’s primary areas of practice are business, real estate, probate and estate planning.
Lindsey is highly experienced in business formation, operation, divestiture, and transactional business law. Additionally, she is a worthy advocate for her clients engaged in civil litigation. Her education and substantial business experience aid Lindsey in providing clients with the most effective, accurate legal advice.
She has helped guide clients through all forms of real estate sales and purchases, from simple residential property sales and easements to complex commercial transactions. Lindsey also has considerable experience in oil and gas which has aided her in negotiating leases and easements on behalf of landowners. She previously represented commercial clients in a wide array of energy law projects including due diligence, transaction negotiation, litigation, title research, title examination, and curative. She has negotiated transactions on behalf of business owners, landowners, mineral interest owners, oil and gas operators, solar energy providers, and a multitude of other entities in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex as well as across the state and in other parts of the country.
In addition to her legal practice, Lindsey is a Professor of Business Law at Tarleton State University. She is a Past President of the Johnson County Bar Association and has had a multitude of community and professional involvements, including the IPAA Emerging Leaders Program, Junior Women’s Club of Fort Worth, Heritage Assembly of Cleburne, Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Lena Pope Young Professional Advocates, Texas A&M Association of Former Students, Texas Christian University Young Alumni, and Women Steering Business for the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.
Lindsey is married to Ryan Matthews and they live in Cleburne, Texas, with their two dogs, Templeton and Millie, and two cats, Prince Hairy and Penelope.
